Pregnancy Massage
As with regular massage, Pregnancy Massage can help alleviate aches and pains.
The only difference is that Pregnancy Massage is tailored to adapt to the ever-changing postural and physiological aspects that may be causing discomfort as a result of growing life. It can also help with stress relief and improve well-being, which is good for the growing baby, and mother too!
With formal training, your therapist knows how to adapt pressures, positioning and will perform some techniques that encourages a connection between mother and baby, as well as to help with some of the discomforts of pregnancy.
Pregnancy Massage is entirely safe during all trimesters of pregnancy. You must let your therapist know what trimester you are in, as this will affect the techniques used and positioning of your body during treatment. You must also let your therapist know of any medical conditions prior to treatment, pregnancy-related or not, but you will be given an opportunity to detail this during a thorough consultation. It is advisable to get consent from your midwife or GP prior to a session, but the therapist will advise this if you haven’t and if it is required.
It is also safe to have Pregnancy Massage if you are suffering from Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), as well as Sciatica, neck, rib and lower back pain.
Please email the clinic if you would like more information on Pregnancy Massage. Or book an appointment here. You can also buy gift vouchers for an expectant mother who deserves a treatment before the new arrival.
